Who am I, and what is this madness?
I am FireRaven. I am a practicing Pagan who follows a mostly solitary path of kitchen witchery and whatever eclectic practices I find. I am also working my way back to self-employment. I make shiny things, and strange, brightly-colored clothes inspired by Japanese street fashion.
I was once heavily involved in the craft. I kept a meticulously organized book of shadows. I worked magick, I communed with nature, I felt the spirits of the quarters and the Lord and Lady all around me. I attended festivals. I studied. And then I fell off the path.
I moved to Arizona, which was good for me in many ways and not so good in others. I fell into a group of very toxic people I once called friends, which pulled me away from the magick I loved so much. But everything happens for a reason, and some good did come from this. I met a wonderful man who we'll call D, and became best freinds, and then more. Shortly after we started dating we both realized the toxicity of the company we kept and promptly got out of it.
Along the way there have been many hardships, as life likes to do, and after a roller coaster ride I find myself in a much clearer, motivated, healthy mindset, ready to re-embrace my path and relearn the ways I once knew.
This blog will document the journey. I am starting fresh: new book of shadows, new life, new job. There will also be food, and shiny things, and whatever else pops into my mind.
If I can help one person who's perhaps a bit lost and confused as I was this blog is accomplishing its purpose.
